RJ Rivera Catering, Inc.

We used this catering service for my sisters wedding out of Bass Hall. Not only was the food without color, taste, or creation... but the service was incredibly impersonal. I literally did not talk to the waiter when a plate of food was thrown in front of me, my plate was taken mid bite, and I returned to my table to find my water glass gone at 8:30pm. When I went to take the Bride and groom's cake to the fridge for them, the catering staff did not acknowledge me. I was beyond unimpressed, and disappointed with the service and pride the company displayed. They are cheap, but in all honesty the quality for that price is not worth your time or hope.

These people acted so interested when we first booked. Two days before the wedding they called to tell us they do not know how they gave us this so cheap. They tried to say it was a buffet even though the contract and all correspondence clearly said plated. They decided if we wanted the glass beverage glasses quoted in the contract we would have to pay extra, we were up against a wall two days before so we begrudgingly paid, within an hour of the worst dinner of my life they cleared my glass and everyone elses. They were so anxious to get out of there they took the brides plate after only three bites. I have been a caterer myself for 30 years and have never seen such an unprofessional organization. I was shocked that they would serve brown lettuce. the chicken that was no bigger than my cell phone was tasteless and the 1/4 cup of potatoes did very little to fill up the plate. The mixed grilled vegetables were mini carrots and one half spear of canned asparagus, neither of which had ever seen the grill. They did not garnish a thing and they took all of the leftover food that Dresden had told us we could have. We tried to contact them by E mail and by phone to rectify the situation and they will not respond, extremely unprofessional behavior. The service was like being served by a walking corpse, zero communication with the guests and they wore plastic gloves...tacky. As far as getting the final payment they started at 10:00 AM and left countless messages on my phone as well as the grooms. The groom told them he was driving and would call them when he could pull over, they called him again 30 seconds later. Save yourself the heartache and do not let your wedding get spoiled by Richard and Dresdan, they are very unprofessional and really only care about getting paid. In addition, we had to clean up everything at the end. We paid extra to have the beverage glasses and this included service to the end, not so. It is really lousy to get bullied into paying more and not getting the service. Stay away from RJ Rivera catering.

you must be kidding, what a joke. food came out of a can, service at the table was non-existent, service terminated prior to the agreed upon time, horrible business manners, and totally unavailable when it came time to discuss the service. you want a caterer, take it into you own hands and hope, baby, hope

I was a guest at a friend's wedding and I was truly hoping for some delicious food..I was more than disappointed. I have never had such bad food from a catering service, rude service and a complete disregard for wedding etiquette. The food was bland and without taste, a gentleman to my right actually stated that he thought Denny's had catered it. The food was not in accordance to the menu agreed upon before hand. At about 8:30 pm, I went back to my table for a glass of water only to find that the catering company had taken all of the water glasses from the tables and left three hours early leaving everyone without water. The servers were rude and not helpful. I have many years of experience in the food world and working with catering services seeing as I used to do the same thing and this is by far the worst caterer in the world. I am sorry to say but if you are looking for a caterer, absolutely do NOT go with RJ Rivera catering!

This company is the best! We gave them our budget and what we were looking for and they quickly and very helpfully gave us a wonderful menu! They provided everything that we needed and did it in the most professional manner possible. Mr. Rivera is a wonderful man who makes FANTASTIC food!!! Everybody loved it and his customer service is second to none.

If I can say one thing that can make or break a wedding reception, it is the owners of the place you have the reception...that is what these people did. They agreed that we could have the place until midnight, but that we were paid through 9 pm, any extra time would be additional expense. Well, when it got closer to 9 we decided that we did want to stay long as the dancing was just beginning...but the DJ said that Rivera had called him at 15 till 9 and told him to turn things off and that the party was over. For no reason whatsoever, he went back on his word.
