DJ Rod was great to work with! He kept everyone dancing the whole time. He was also very helpful in making a timeline that kept everything flowing together. When he met with us, we found he really wanted to get to know us to understand what we wanted from our reception and he played music that was exactly what we asked for. I highly recommend DJ Rod!!!

DJ Rod was the icing on the cake for my wedding! He listened to what my now husband and I wanted for our wedding and he went above and beyond to make the night perfect. All of my guest said that they felt like they were at a party and were not bored because of the music we had going :) I would definately recommend Rod and will be keeping him in mind for any parties we might have in the future!!

Rod did a fantastic job for my wife and my wedding! The equipment is top of the line, Rod is very professional and he has many great ideas. Don't think we could have found a better DJ for our big day. Rod exhibits the perfect combination of professionalism and party into his work. He loves what he does and excels in all aspects of his business. Have something you don't know how to work into your wedding? Don't sweat it...Rod will find a way to mix it in perfectly. Let him do his thing and trust in his experience. He is great at communicating back and forth with you and is open to whatever you're wanting. I didn't have one complaint about how the entertainment was done from anyone at the wedding. It was a blast and Rod was a big contribution to that. The dance floor was popping the ENTIRE night. Kids, grandparents, everyone...all getting down. Rod knows how to manage the time extremely well while keeping the atmosphere alive and fun. You should get with this guy.

We LOVED Rod! He is absolutely the BEST at what he does, bar none! He went above and beyond what any "regular" dj would think was on his "job description" to insure our couple had the time of their lives...he listened to everything we said and made sure the finest details were taken care of..the music throughout the evening was perfect, with all the dances, toasts and games happening at just the right times. My guests were even impressed! Most people commented on his creativity and personal touches. It was a wonderful reception. We would never hesitate to recommend Rod to anyone...he's awesome!

Rod was absolutely awesome!!! He made the entire process so easy letting us relax knowing our reception was in good hands. The playlist request tool on his website gave us the flexibilty and ease to pick key songs we wanted played, and Rod did the rest! The lighting he provided was fantastic and completely transformed our venue! Another tip, make sure and include the Newlywed Game! I was apprehensive about it in the begining, but it was really fun and everyone enjoyed it! We had less than two months to plan our wedding and we were worried that we would not be able to find a great DJ in such little time. Rod surpassed our expectations after meeting with him for a consultation and we picked him immediately. He had so many wonderful ideas and his positive energy was infectious. He mapped out our wedding reception in a way that we could visualize and it fueled our excitement. From day one it was obvious we were in good hands. Rod didn’t just help us with our reception, but also the ceremony itself. He downloaded the songs we wanted and made the ceremony an unforgettable experience. He helped us in so many ways and made the stress level diminish greatly. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns that arose and we never had trouble getting a hold of him. When our vendor (Ashton Gardens) had to get a hold of him he always responded quickly and Ashley, our wedding coordinator at Ashton Gardens, said Rod had to be the “the nicest guy/DJ ever!!” He is…he truly is!!! The ideas Rod had for the reception were wonderful. He worked closely with Ashton Gardens to ensure that everything ran smoothly and on time. Our main worry was that people would not dance, but Rod made sure to get people up and moving on the dance floor. Everyone loved the Newlywed Game!! We got so many compliments on it and it is definitely a must do with Rod. He got everyone interested and excited for the rest of the night. You can even see everyone’s faces in the wedding photos with huge smiles during the game. We even heard people say, “Oh my gosh, this is great!” That is something you want to hear during your reception. In addition, he also had an anniversary dance to get all the couples on the dance floor. It was a special moment and allowed so many people to get involved. He brought each element at the perfect time to make sure the energy remained at a constant level throughout the reception. He also had me record a message for my mother during our mother/son dance which caught her off guard and went over perfectly. It brought tears of joy to my mother’s eyes. It was Rod’s idea and a great one at that. Towards the end, when people were slowly making their way off the dance floor, he helped infuse even more life into the party by getting every single person dancing again, which was great for pictures!!! In the end, Rod had people dancing that we never expected to dance. We are eternally grateful for the wonderful experience he helped provide. If you are looking for just a good DJ, then don’t look at Rod. However, if you are looking for a spectacular, great, top-notch DJ who will ensure that your wedding is wonderful, then you should definitely book Rod Baker. Brides...You GOTTA read this!!! (A groom's review) My wife and I had an amazing wedding day in November 2011! Perfect day, weather, venues, and our vendors were decent (for the most part). However, Rod Baker and DFW Parties.com were far from just decent. In fact he was miles and miles from it. In fact, we still have random conversations about how Rod was literally the “all-star” and in many senses, the savior of our wedding reception. Now to say he was THE all-star, may make some brides (and grooms) think that he was the center of attention the entire night as many DJs and MCs tend to do, often taking the spotlight away from the newlyweds… Far from it! To keep it plain and simple, ROD KNOWS HIS STUFF. He knows what people want, and he goes above and beyond those expectations. Through his experience and amazing attention to detail, Rod saved our reception from several potential pitfalls created by our choice in caterers. He had the unique ability to sense issues, and quickly reacted to keep the event running smoothly, all while using his great personality and charm to allow our guests to enjoy the nice intimate evening. We had several consultation meetings with Rod, the first being about 8 months before the wedding. We actually surprised him by bringing both sets of parents to meet him at our local Starbucks. He was so kind – willing to travel just about anywhere to meet us! The surprise in the number of people didn’t faze him one bit and he instantly won all of us over with his honesty and great personality. He asked relevant questions about us, trying to get a clear understanding of the kind of music both of us enjoy. He asked us about what kind of reception we were envisioning. He even asked our parents about some of their thoughts, expectations, concerns and even for any special requests which was just so thoughtful! Rod then explained to us his “philosophy” about the lifecycle of wedding receptions and his specific approach to the specific highs and lows in terms of energy levels. We could tell that Rod’s been doing this for quite a while and completely understood what needed to happen and when. He was literally the one and only person we interviewed to organize our evening, but by the end of the initial meeting, my wife and I both had the instant vibe that Rod was a trustworthy professional. (It’s a huge thing for both of us to put trust into people!) In our second meeting, about a month before the wedding, we finalized our music choices and he presented his game plan to us, as well as several back-up plans in case the energy was not what we were expecting. Talk about being prepared! He was also very easy to get a hold of via email throughout the entire process. When it came time to the reception on our wedding day, Rod brought his “A game”. Our cocktail hour on the outside patio of Delaney Vineyards (Grapevine, TX) was relaxing, classy and elegant due to the mood that he set with his tasteful collection of classical and smooth jazz. It provided a great beat and just enough energy for our guests to relax and chat without having to overpower the music volume with their voices. Rod provided us with a great transition into the reception room as we had a fun bridal party entrance and a memorable first dance . He then set a minute aside for us to thank everyone for being a part of our special day. The evening was looking magical and we didn’t think there was any way Rod could top his performance… We were wrong. As we mentioned above, we were not happy with our caterer. But luckily, Rod came to the rescue several times during our reception when they dropped the ball. After dinner, we were scheduled to have a champagne toast, yet the catering staff was NO WHERE to be found and none of our guests had been provided with the toasting glasses we rented. Rod quickly took notice and immediately, yet discreetly, came over to me and suggested a small change to the game plan. He suggested that we go over to the dessert table and start the cake cutting to keep the flow going. He then calmly announced to our guests to gather around our cake table and the crisis was averted! After dessert, Rod got the energy going again by introducing his take on the “Newlywed Game” which got tons of laughs and “Awwws” from our friends and family as we both answered the same way to his final romantic question. From there, the party REALLY started as the music picked up and everyone hit the dance floor and had a great time! Rod perfectly facilitated the rest of the evening through our sparkler exit to the limo. Overall, Rod Baker is the epitome of a professional and a class act. His in-depth knowledge of music, technology, event planning and execution along with his amazing personality make him in our opinion, THE DJ of choice in the entire DFW Metroplex (and beyond)!

We could not have been happier with our DJ! Rod worked with our venue coordinator to make sure the ceremony and reception flowed perfectly and we didn't have to worry about anything. He was extremely helpful and flexible, had great ideas on how to enhance our reception, and took all of our wishes into account. I can't say enough about what a great job Rod did for us, he truly made the reception a blast. He also did a fabulous job on the uplighting!

I found rod through my venue the Belltower Chapel and Garden. Out of the 5 dj/mc i was supposed to meet with Rod was the only one I actually met up with and pretty immediately decided that I wanted him to dj my event. In our meeting, he walked me through the flow of the wedding and how he was going to keep the party going. He was very professional and fun during the entire meeting and was able to dj my event for a very reasonable price. After we booked him, he would check on me along the way to see if i had any questions, and made sure I was putting my song list together. the day of the wedding he was awesome, very attentive, reassuring in the more stressful situations, and fun when it was time to boogie. All in all Rod is amazing and all my guest thought he did an wonderful job. we had a lot of fun.

5 Star Ratings across the board and here is why: My wife and I got married on 09 October 2011 in Grapevine, Texas but we planned our wedding from Arizona (where I live) and Japan (where she lived). We looked on WeddingWire to find a DJ in the area and only chose to contact those with reputable ratings. I sent a request for information to another DJ company and to Rod...and Rod responded the quickest (and we are lucky that he did). Rod was very responsive and helpful and took on the challenge of helping us plan the music portion of our wedding even though my wife and I were not even in the same state. He sent us a few planning links where we entered in the details of our wedding, our song selections, and our timeline. I emailed Rod a kazillion thoughts, questions, and ideas about our wedding and he responeded to them all in a very timely manner. Much appreciated since we were planning our wedding "remotely" from out-of-state. Rod was also eager to assist us in implementing various cultural aspects during our reception. Since alot of my family was from Texas and her family and friends came from Japan we really wanted to introduce some of the cultural aspects from both sides. One of my wife's bridesmaids gave a lesson on how to perform a traditional Okinawan dance and that got everybody onto the dancefloor. Rod was so helpful, he even set up a traditional line dancing lesson to the Cotton Eyed Joe to have some fun with our Japanese guests. Worried that Rod won't be able to play the music you want? Don't be! My wife requested quite a few songs from some poplular Japanese artists and I wanted alot of Alternative 80's music. Of course we had to provide him with either a Youtube link of the Japanese music or an MP3 file of the more obscure songs but Rod was able to play them all. What impressed me more than the fact that all of the songs my wife requested were played at our reception was the fact that they were seamlessly blended into the mix with all of the songs I requested! Rod really did a great job of listening to the music we provided and coming up with a playlist that was not dis-jointed or awkward. There were several times when I didn't even realize Japanese music was playing until midway through the song! Rod takes your plan and makes it his own. If you think that you can plan your wedding and don't need help staying on track throughout the night I wish you luck. Rod was very professional and assisted us in staying on our timeline throughout the reception. His DJ set up was very nice with smoked glass and awesome lighting that really enhanced the atmosphere of the reception. Quite simply, I would highly recommend Rod for any couple looking for a wedding DJ. For the quality service that Rod provided, I honestly expected to pay way more than what he charged. Go with Rod, you will not be dissapointed!

I absolutely recommend Rod Baker to anyone who is looking for a fun, energetic, professional, responsive, flexible, creative, and not cheesy - I repeat, not cheesy - DJ for their wedding. We challenged Rod with an atypical mix of music for a wedding reception (David Gray, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Ryan Adams, Ray Lamontagne, Amos Lee, etc.), and he blended our requests effortlessly with other more popular songs that got and kept everyone dancing. The ages of our guests varied quite a bit, but somehow Rod kept everyone having fun. Even the groom's father danced more than the obligatory one song, and he's not what I'd call an outgoing man. When I look at the pictures from our reception, I see nothing but huge smiles, and I know this is in large part due to Rod's ability to create such a fun atmosphere. Rod's services are an incredible value. You can pay a lot - and I mean a lot - more for other DJs in the area and you will likely have to contend with the "cheese factor" - not so with Rod. After meeting with Rod once, I felt like he'd do a great job for us, and he absolutely did!

One word..... a-mazing! Our reception was, hands down, a great time! Rod was our DJ for our wedding, but he was SO much more than just the DJ--He was there ev-er-y step of the way to help plan out our reception! From the beginning, Rod was only a call/email away to answer any questions and help with ideas and was extremely flexible to meet so that our special day was taken care of. He gave us his undivided attention and actually took the time to get to know my husband and I so that our wedding reception would fit best for us! As an EXTREMELY undecisive bride, Rod was always there (and patient!) to help us make decisions and brought great ideas to the table. He even met me the day BEFORE our wedding (made me feel a million times better)! Rod's energy and enthusiam is instantly contagious!! He turned our reception into a party! DJ Rod was AMAZING at our wedding- he made the reception! The song request lists that he provides makes it so easy to request specific songs that you want to hear at your wedding/reception. We had a handful of songs that we really wanted to hear and requested those, but we also gave a list of songs just to give him an idea of the mix we wanted to hear- and he played a great mix of everything at our reception! The "activities: that Rod does during receptions (newlywed game, anniversary dance) really helped to add something fun to the reception. The newlywed game was a hit with the guests-we got so many comments about that! I would definitely recommend Rod to ANY bride looking for a DJ!
