Rod was the best! He knew how to work the crowd and keep the momentum going. Rod paid attention to what we wanted and came through with flying colors! Even little kids had a blast, which meant their parents could stay longer and enjoy the evening with the rest of us. Thanks, Rod!

Don't think we could have found a better DJ for our big day. Rod exhibits the perfect combination of professionalism and party into his work. He loves what he does and excels in all aspects of his business. Have something you don't know how to work into your wedding? Don't sweat it...Rod will find a way to mix it in perfectly. Let him do his thing and trust in his experience. He is great at communicating back and forth with you and is open to whatever you're wanting. I didn't have one complaint about how the entertainment was done from anyone at the wedding. It was a blast and Rod was a big contribution to that. The dance floor was popping the ENTIRE night. Kids, grandparents, everyone...all getting down. Rod knows how to manage the time extremely well while keeping the atmosphere alive and fun. You should get with this guy.

We LOVED Rod! He is absolutely the BEST at what he does, bar none! He went above and beyond what any "regular" dj would think was on his "job description" to insure our couple had the time of their lives...he listened to everything we said and made sure the finest details were taken care of..the music throughout the evening was perfect, with all the dances, toasts and games happening at just the right times. My guests were even impressed! Most people commented on his creativity and personal touches. It was a wonderful reception. We would never hesitate to recommend Rod to anyone...he's awesome!

Rod was absolutely awesome!!! He made the entire process so easy letting us relax knowing our reception was in good hands. The playlist request tool on his website gave us the flexibilty and ease to pick key songs we wanted played, and Rod did the rest! The lighting he provided was fantastic and completely transformed our venue! Another tip, make sure and include the Newlywed Game! I was apprehensive about it in the begining, but it was really fun and everyone enjoyed it! All of our friends have told us that our wedding was the most fun wedding they had ever been to, and I know that Rod is the reason! He definitely exceeded my expectations. We had less than two months to plan our wedding and we were worried that we would not be able to find a great DJ in such little time. Rod surpassed our expectations after meeting with him for a consultation and we picked him immediately. He had so many wonderful ideas and his positive energy was infectious. He mapped out our wedding reception in a way that we could visualize and it fueled our excitement. From day one it was obvious we were in good hands.Rod didn’t just help us with our reception, but also the ceremony itself. He downloaded the songs we wanted and made the ceremony an unforgettable experience. He helped us in so many ways and made the stress level diminish greatly. When our vendor (Ashton Gardens) had to get a hold of him he always responded quickly and Ashley, our wedding coordinator at Ashton Gardens, said Rod had to be the “the nicest guy/DJ ever!!” He is…he truly is!!!The ideas Rod had for the reception were wonderful. He worked closely with Ashton Gardens to ensure that everything ran smoothly and on time. Our main worry was that people would not dance, but Rod made sure to get people up and moving on the dance floor. Everyone loved the Newlywed Game!! We got so many compliments on it and it is definitely a must do with Rod. He got everyone interested and excited for the rest of the night. You can even see everyone’s faces in the wedding photos with huge smiles during the game. We even heard people say, “Oh my gosh, this is great!” That is something you want to hear during your reception. In addition, he also had an anniversary dance to get all the couples on the dance floor. It was a special moment and allowed so many people to get involved. He brought each element at the perfect time to make sure the energy remained at a constant level throughout the reception. He also had me record a message for my mother during our mother/son dance which caught her off guard and went over perfectly. It brought tears of joy to my mother’s eyes. It was Rod’s idea and a great one at that. Towards the end, when people were slowly making their way off the dance floor, he helped infuse even more life into the party by getting every single person dancing again, which was great for pictures!!! In the end, Rod had people dancing that we never expected to dance. We are eternally grateful for the wonderful experience he helped provide.If you are looking for just a good DJ, then don’t look at Rod. However, if you are looking for a spectacular, great, top-notch DJ who will ensure that your wedding is wonderful, then you should definitely book Rod Baker. Rod did an absolutely wonderful job at my reception. All of my guests are still raving about the incredible time they had and keep inquiring about my dj. He made the whole evening stress free and everything we had planned was executed perfectly! When thinking about a reception the dj is absolutely key to making or breaking your event. We could not have been happier with our DJ! Rod worked with our venue coordinator to make sure the ceremony and reception flowed perfectly and we didn't have to worry about anything. He was extremely helpful and flexible, had great ideas on how to enhance our reception, and took all of our wishes into account. I can't say enough about what a great job Rod did for us, he truly made the reception a blast. He also did a fabulous job on the uplighting!

I found rod through my venue the Belltower Chapel and Garden. Out of the 5 dj/mc i was supposed to meet with Rod was the only one I actually met up with and pretty immediately decided that I wanted him to dj my event. In our meeting, he walked me through the flow of the wedding and how he was going to keep the party going. He was very professional and fun during the entire meeting and was able to dj my event for a very reasonable price. After we booked him, he would check on me along the way to see if i had any questions, and made sure I was putting my song list together.the day of the wedding he was awesome, very attentive, reassuring in the more stressful situations, and fun when it was time to boogie. All in all Rod is amazing and all my guest thought he did an wonderful job. we had a lot of fun.

5 Star Ratings across the board and here is why: My wife and I got married on 09 October 2011 in Grapevine, Texas but we planned our wedding from Arizona (where I live) and Japan (where she lived). We looked on WeddingWire to find a DJ in the area and only chose to contact those with reputable ratings. I sent a request for information to another DJ company and to Rod...and Rod responded the quickest (and we are lucky that he did). Rod was very responsive and helpful and took on the challenge of helping us plan the music portion of our wedding even though my wife and I were not even in the same state. He sent us a few planning links where we entered in the details of our wedding, our song selections, and our timeline. I emailed Rod a kazillion thoughts, questions, and ideas about our wedding and he responeded to them all in a very timely manner. Much appreciated since we were planning our wedding "remotely" from out-of-state. Rod was also eager to assist us in implementing various cultural aspects during our reception. Since alot of my family was from Texas and her family and friends came from Japan we really wanted to introduce some of the cultural aspects from both sides. One of my wife's bridesmaids gave a lesson on how to perform a traditional Okinawan dance and that got everybody onto the dancefloor. Rod was so helpful, he even set up a traditional line dancing lesson to the Cotton Eyed Joe to have some fun with our Japanese guests. Worried that Rod won't be able to play the music you want? Don't be! My wife requested quite a few songs from some poplular Japanese artists and I wanted alot of Alternative 80's music. Of course we had to provide him with either a Youtube link of the Japanese music or an MP3 file of the more obscure songs but Rod was able to play them all. What impressed me more than the fact that all of the songs my wife requested were played at our reception was the fact that they were seamlessly blended into the mix with all of the songs I requested! Rod really did a great job of listening to the music we provided and coming up with a playlist that was not dis-jointed or awkward. There were several times when I didn't even realize Japanese music was playing until midway through the song!Rod takes your plan and makes it his own. If you think that you can plan your wedding and don't need help staying on track throughout the night I wish you luck. Rod was very professional and assisted us in staying on our timeline throughout the reception. His DJ set up was very nice with smoked glass and awesome lighting that really enhanced the atmosphere of the reception.Quite simply, I would highly recommend Rod for any couple looking for a wedding DJ. For the quality service that Rod provided, I honestly expected to pay way more than what he charged. Go with Rod, you will not be dissapointed!

I absolutely recommend Rod Baker to anyone who is looking for a fun, energetic, professional, responsive, flexible, creative, and not cheesy - I repeat, not cheesy - DJ for their wedding. We challenged Rod with an atypical mix of music for a wedding reception (David Gray, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Ryan Adams, Ray Lamontagne, Amos Lee, etc.), and he blended our requests effortlessly with other more popular songs that got and kept everyone dancing. The ages of our guests varied quite a bit, but somehow Rod kept everyone having fun. Even the groom's father danced more than the obligatory one song, and he's not what I'd call an outgoing man. When I look at the pictures from our reception, I see nothing but huge smiles, and I know this is in large part due to Rod's ability to create such a fun atmosphere. Rod's services are an incredible value. You can pay a lot - and I mean a lot - more for other DJs in the area and you will likely have to contend with the "cheese factor" - not so with Rod. After meeting with Rod once, I felt like he'd do a great job for us, and he absolutely did!

One word..... a-mazing! Our reception was, hands down, a great time!Rod was our DJ for our wedding, but he was SO much more than just the DJ--He was there ev-er-y step of the way to help plan out our reception! From the beginning, Rod was only a call/email away to answer any questions and help with ideas and was extremely flexible to meet so that our special day was taken care of. DJ Rod was AMAZING at our wedding- he made the reception! The song request lists that he provides makes it so easy to request specific songs that you want to hear at your wedding/reception. We had a handful of songs that we really wanted to hear and requested those, but we also gave a list of songs just to give him an idea of the mix we wanted to hear- and he played a great mix of everything at our reception! The "activities: that Rod does during receptions (newlywed game, anniversary dance) really helped to add something fun to the reception. The newlywed game was a hit with the guests-we got so many comments about that! I would definitely recommend Rod to ANY bride looking for a DJ!

Amazing! Hiring Rod as our DJ was definitely the best decision! He is completely professional and prompt when responding to emails and phone calls. He had unique plans for our reception outlines many months before the wedding and was flexible when some ideas needed to change. I called him just a couple days before the wedding with a new idea and he made it happen by mixing songs together for a special daddy/daughter dance. He kept everyone completely entertained the entire night with his ideas to keep the dance floor PACKED! I had given him a few song choices and he was able to choose more songs that had me saying "I love this song!" throughout the dinner and reception. Several people have come to me saying how much fun they had and how they haven't danced like that in years! He worked closely with the wedding planner and other vendors to keep the night running smoothly. He also kept us informed on how many songs until the cake cutting, newlywed game, anniversary dance, etc. so we were exactly where we needed to be.Rod is a true professional who makes the effort to get to know the couples as well as there preferences. I had to take a minute and agree with my wife... (things change when you get married LOL). After booking Rod on the spot we met with him a few weeks later. Something had to be wrong, He was making things to easy for the price.. working around what we wanted and DIDN'T want, custom lights, a basic timeline of events, etc. We met a few days before our wedding and finalized everything.. Just as he promised, lights were done as we asked, plus a few to look at as options, all the songs cut as we needed for our dances, contacted other vendors, etc. I was impressed with everything. I was still worried that we wouldn't have people dancing, since it was a small wedding, and they would be sitting around or hittin up the open bar, which i've seen at more then a few weddings. After being as impressed with his preparation, with us and some of the other vendors, he completely blew my mind with the way he was able to work the crowd. From the first group dance till after we left there were ALWAYS people out dancing, laughing, just having a great time. If your looking for a DJ and don't at least meet with Rod then your missing out on a key part of you wedding. We met Rod by chance while visiting another of our vendors and I couldn't be more thankful that fate guided us his way. Rod's upbeat attitude is infectious, his ideas and planning unparralleled and his music knowledge and range astounding! My husband and I knew within minutes of meeting him that he was the DJ for us -- so we booked him on the spot. Out of all of our wedding vendors, I'm happiest that we went with Rod. Our wedding was small, intimate and very 'US'. Through a slideshow, Rod fused my husbands traditional wedding music tastes with my eclectic and indie tastes perfectly so well that it flowed with every single picture and had our crowd glued to the screen. He combined a Father/Daughter song with my voice saying a heartfelt message to my Dad so beautifully, it not only shocked everyone when they heard it but there wasn't a dry eye in the ballroom as we danced. And after, he brought them all to boyous laughter with the Newlywed Game he led us through. But where he really shined was with the dancing music! Rod did a great job DJ-ing our wedding. We booked him almost a year in advance - after meeting with several potential DJ's, several of whom skeezed us out, and a few of whom just had ridiculous prices, Rod was a breath of fresh air. We booked him right after our initial meeting, which was laid back and stress-free. His online planning forms are great, and he was always on top of things in terms of pre-planning and responding to emails and questions. Our wedding crowd was a bit of an odd mix, and getting people on the dance floor was further complicated by a breakdancing 6-year-old who stole the spotlight for a good chunck of time. Rod was awesome though, and used all his DJ tricks to get people on the floor and keep the party going. My husband and I were actually some of the first to leave our own wedding, but everyone has told us that the party kept going once we left, in large part due to Rod. We definitely needed a professional that night, and Rod delivered, both in his DJ-ing and MC-ing skills. We were really happy with our choice, and would definitely recommend to any brides looking for an easy-going vendor who knows his stuff!
